I think it would be useful to implement the ability to configure logging based on distance not only on time. Logging based on time results in different results depending on the speed. If I'm driving at 60 km/h logging every 5 minutes means that way-points are 5 km apart. If I'm walking at 4-5km/h, logging every 5 minutes means that way-points are 300-400 meters apart. If logging interval could be based on distance it would log the route with the same precision at different speeds.
The next step could be a combination of distance and time.
